Legal provisions applicable to the website

The Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019), which is based on the EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102), requires websites to be accessible.

Compliance status

The objective of the City of Tampere is to reach at least level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, if reasonably achievable. This website mostly meets the accessibility requirements set by legislation at levels A and AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Known accessibility issues are listed below.

Non-accessible content

  • User-generated content: Not all services, creator profiles, and other content published by the users contain text alternatives to images (WCAG 2.1, 1.1.1).
  • Occasional content issues: User-added profile and service advertisements might have issues with header structures or contrast. These issues will be fixed as they are discovered.

Accessibility assessment

Accessibility has been assessed using both software and manual tests. The assessment has been conducted by the online services partner of the City of Tampere.

Updating the accessibility statement

The accessibility of the website is continuously maintained as technology and content change. This statement will be updated as needed if there are significant changes.
